I never see more than 112 and most the time its around the ton.

The pumps is dead easy to change, I don't  know about the gsf ones but if you get one from VW its about £32 and comes with the pick up and strainer.

You say the waters boiling up too, is the fan cutting in, is the thermostat stuck closed, is the water pump working? just a thought

And as already asked what is an ATF flush and why why why?

normal oil flushes (e.g. WYNNES engine flush) is basically diesal, with a few other bits thrown in.

Auto Transmission fluid is full of cleaners and degreasers, this washes the engine internally and holds on to the junk, for you to emtpy out when you change the oil. You need approx 500ml in with your normal oil, run for approx 200 easy miles, and change your oil.

Many people say it works wonders on noisy tappets!!

NO NO NO Just use a cheap oil and then magnatec. All engine oils have cleaners in them.

NO NO NO  you really should ask what one does   :nerd:

Magnatec is superb for a motor with a few miles on it but then thats why its good ;)

But each to the own but I've seen the results! :)

ATF might do what you say but you should think about it and why it does what you say it does, thats why i wouldn't us it ;)

if it helps - what does one do?

all I know - it has been discussed to death on the other forum, with many many followers. No one to my knowledge has had anything bad happen as a result of flushing the engine with atf.

Also, the OP has discovered tha problem was an airlock. nothing to do with flushing the engine
