Ultimately its maybe just that I got a good deal. Though like I said, Google "tollbar warwick volvo" they've got some nice looking GTI's at £14850 and they do great finance deals if required.

just had a quick look on their website and there are some good deals on the gti's - there is only one 3 door ( a must) which is blue and has 18's on it - iinitilally wanted leather but how is the interlagos in the flesh and to live with on a daily basis?

are all the gti's at tollbar warwick volvo imports?

No it was a one off that a guy off here bought. They confirmed to me it was £2K cheaper because it was an import and they wanted a quick sale.

Myself and Topher both bought UK cars. I think the ones there are all UK cars. I saw the blue one last Saturday and it looked a really nice colour.

I have leather as I have a white haired dog and didn't want dog hairs sticking to the seat.

We've all written accounts of our purchases in the good guys section of this forum.

do you mean the line of  buttons under the screen?  are they silver or is the light bouncing of black buttons - i cant really tell?

has anyone else seen any good deals on any gti's they can point me in the direction of?

must be 3 door, manual, have 18's and a pretty decent spec - thanks in advance.

To answer one of your earlier questions wolfie, the ride on the GTI is much better than the A3. I had an A3 with the sport suspension and agree with you that it isn't the best. The GTI is much better and so is the handling.

Just to let you know ive done the deal and I wil be picking up the GTI next weekend  - got the cost to change below £2k with a few bits and bobs thrown in. Cant wait!

The car itself was pristine and looked so good in the candy white, wasnt sure from the photos bit in the flesh . The car itself had a few more extras not mentioned in the ad like centre armest (with 6cd), auto lights and wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror.

The test drive was along dual carriageways and some country lanes - i was not disappointed - it was so smooth and when I put my foot down it went! As the Audi has the same engine in DSG form I thought I might be underwhelmed but I wasnt and found the manual gearchanges very smooth. It really is an headturner and noticed even when parked it received many admiring glances. Even the cloth seats felt so much better and seemed more snug and supportive - I was a bit apprehensive about whether I would notice a real difference in the interior compared to the A3 but no such thing - in fact I think I like it better - there seems to be cubby holes and little gadgets everywhere.  I hope this feeling lasts and I wasnt just blinded during the test drive etc - but I think it will.

I probably didnt get the best deal in the world and there are probably better deals out there but Im a bit impulsive and the deal is done and I really cant wait to get to grips with it and see what ive been missing out on

The only drawback was the stereo sound quality compared to the Bose in the Audi - how can this be remedied?

On collection day - what should I not forget to do!?!?

Great choice Wolfie

See my write up on what I did with my sound system in the link below

With the collection day there is a sticky thread on the subject. Although the topic is for new cars, most of it is applicable to VW dealership cars anyway.

Hope this helps
