Have seen mine at 110 lots of time, iirc 16v engines have oil jets that spray oil on the under side of the pistons to keep the crowns cooler.

You would think so jk8v and I thought the temp was in fahrenheit at first due to the temps involved, but 94c -110c is well within normal range.

Not over the boiling point of the oil and the cooling system is under pressure so even the coolant can be over 100 deg c and not boil. (thats why you should not take the cap off the cooling system when the engine is hot).

yours wont have the 't' piece arrangement, but it will have the one at (the bolt thing) the back, check it is connected, or buy a new one from vag (?10)

Another factor with tempreature is the grade/make of oil you are running. Quantum Silver is very stable at higher tempreatures, than comparative oils.
