mine was in the garage for service and other stuff and they said didnt need to change it

look after the pennies and all that....
Virtually everything I know about the workings of the internal combustion engine can be written on the back of a small stamp with a large marker

yeah fair play, but i sometimes if bits are cheap, i just replace them, maybe its a waste of money, but better peace of mind for me i guess.

I use an old man with a garage that used to be an RAF mechanic, but hes like 60 and not certified, but never had a problem. Whats good a for a fighter plane is good for my gti. lol!  :laugh:

Only changed the belts about a month ago but will check for them tightness this weekend, thanks to len for the advice.
