Idea on how to wire this? *ADDED PICTURE*
« on: 02 January 2008, 17:44 »
Ok, so i have a snooper with an addon, and at the moment it plugs into my lighter, but then i cant charge my phone. So i am going to wire it to the power supply from my headunit with a switch so i can cut the power. It sticks the window, so where is the best place to route the wires from the top of the dash (by the air vents, as central as possible) so get it down to wire into the headunit. If you get what im saying? Will i have to make a hole in my dash  ??

Also i am going to put the bit on the far left, in the engine bay as it dont need to be on display. So that can go through the bungs that go into the bay ok. So any ideas on how to wire the main part without having to much wires on display?

as it seems....you hav a fair amount of wires hangin out....so the only thing i could suggest is to get one v those female cigi lighter sockets that has a open ended wire on the other side to patch it onto a desired power supply. initially i would use the ignition power supply from behind the radio...and as for routing the wire...the female cigi lighter patch lead which we use for our hardwires at halfords gives enough extension so that you wont have any stress on the original power leads for your devices. position your product in a place where you feel comfortable..and then its the case of simple tucking the wire behind the dash furthest down the windscreen and routing it around behind the glove box and through to the rear of the radio.

alternatively, you can wire it down to the car cigi lighter and use the rear of the original car cigi lighter to patch your new patch lead into. you can purchase a patch lead from any maplins store for a small fee...theyr not that much or you can buy off the net.

there is a fuse holder in between the patch lead power supply cable to avoid any short circuits to the car and a small black ground cable...thats all you realy need. n then from that point on...you can still use your car cigi ligher as you plase for other devices and your snooper can jus be plugged into the unit only as you will have a small amount of its power cable seeking out from the chossen location on the dashboard...enough for you to plug it in!!!

Does that help??

you shouldnt need to drill or fabricate any holes...its all realy a case of nip n tuck!

Why pay big bucks when you can do it yourself???
