Simple answear is there really is zero point in making your GTi 4wd.

Thx man. Thats all I needed to hear.

If you are wanting a bit more in the traction department, the only really viable solution would be to have a Limited slip differential fitted.  :nerd:

I was on the quaife website, they do a limited slip diff for the gti, its about 550 quid, not to bad, but has anyone got a rough idea how much it would cost to get it fitted??? I would love one on my ed30

I'd ask Awesome GTI

Yeah will do but I am expecting quite a large figure as I believe it involves quite a lot of labour.

Yes, I'd at least double the cost of the part for the total cost.

you could convert the MK4 to 4Motion, so don't see any reason why you couldn't do the same to the MK5

after all no reason why you couldn't seal the running gear from the MK5 TDI 4 Motion or the R32
