new car set-up
« on: 27 November 2007, 10:31 »
hi,

now looking at putting a nice sound system in my mk4 golf, only things i'm certain of is that i'm gonna have 2x 12" kicker impulse subs in the boot cus they've been sat in the garage from a car a stripped to bits and wanna put them to some use. would also like a pioneer DEH-P9800BT but not sure i can afford it or if it's worth the money

other than that just looking for some ideas and advice on what to go for with head-units, amps and speakers as it's been a long time since i did a sound system.

cheers

Phil
a work in progress......someday i might think i'm happy with a car....maybe

so far: 40mm Gmax lowering kit, upper and lower S3 strut braces, pipercross panel filter, Smoothed air box and 18" Audi R8 reps

righto!

pioneers make nice HU's so good choice.

for a decent budget amp I would go for a JBL 75.4 to power some components in the front doors.

and a JBL 1200.1 for subs duties, depending on the coil config of your subs ( have you got an internet specification link for your particular sub?)

another thing to think about, have you thought about wiring ( and costs of!)?

I could continue but...
for the speakers ill really need a budget for or im going to upset you, that is a certainty!

A total, all in budget would be the best thing to state.
