what is the rest of your system?

That head unit was circa £1500 when new.
All the Sound off boys used it because the signal was so clean - gave fantastic signal to noise.
Downside is, there is no internal amplifier - pre-outs only. So, if you have an amplified system, go for that

The greatest leveller of them all - the Carousel

im actually watching this hehehe, a classic

rest of my system in one car is all alpine DDDrive stuff, Alpine Ai Net changer in the Glove box but nothing mega rare tbh, just all quality Alpine Ai net stuff, and some of the original Rockford Punch Amps and subs (before rockford sold out and went all commercial)

in the mk 3 i have a recent CDA 9853 alpine HU, and at the moment Focal 6.5 in the doors, with a FOCAL sub in Focal box in the boot (£450 and the best sub iv ever heard)
Powered by a pheonix gold amp.
But putting my Rainbow components in the front i think, they retail at £400 so i really wanna know what they sound like..

i have a few oldskool Alpine head units tho in storage, from the 93-94 period..

the 909 in the link is a  absolute CLASSIC and i love it
