ohh and leaky door membrains (piss easy to fix) ;)

when u pick one up, have a look for a mist in the windows. if there is a mist then you have leaky door membrain thingys ;D

and smoke in the exhaust when you boot it! fllow the buying guide and you will be fine, if in doubt take a mechanic or someone in the know. welcome to the world of dubbing!  ;)

when you get out on a test drive, find a car park or open space and do a few circles on full lock, check for knocking noises which is a sign of shagged driveshafts / cv joints.

be prepared to get addicted..... ;D

Thanks for the tips guys - I read over that buying guide and mostly makes sense to me. I've a friend mechanic who also owns a Mk2 so i'll be dragging him along to make sure everythings in order :)
