Dizzy cap
« on: 10 September 2007, 18:46 »
Hello all,

Iv got a missfire and decided its the dizzy cap and rotor arm that need replacing, problem is i ordered some and theyre too big. I think theres 2 set ups, a bosch one and something else. Im guessing mine isnt bosch as the bosch ones dont fit. Any ideas on the other one or some part numbers would be great!

Its a 1989 1.6 driver

Cheers peeps!

Isn't there a part number on the dizzy that's on your car?

No part number on dizzy but got that sorted now thanks. Well i say sorted, i got the right cap and rotor arm and still got the same probs with the missfire! A mate reckons it could be a blown valve. The cars been off the road for 2 long now and is my only form of transport, i need help! Has anybody had similar probs before? Just to re-cap, it sounds like a small plane when it does run, revs go up in blocks, has about half the power and unless im reving it it stalls.

Took the distributor top off and found a magnet from somewhere stuck inside it. Take out the magnet and problem solved. Next problem, what the fu#k was the magnet for?

Thanks
