Sunroof leak
«
on:

As of this weekend my sunroof has a strange leak, it only seems to leak when heavy rain falls, if it is light it is ok. The water only seems to be on the black trim around the inside of the sunroof that keeps the headliner in, does anyone have any ideas what is causing this and a rectification for it
Thanks

are the front and rear drainage tubes working?? test them by pouring water into the sunroof runner tracks.

Best thing is to get compresed air through the top and a long stick bellow the A pillar to unblock the drain pipes that run throught it. A PILLAR is where I would strip off first then you can see the drain pipes. Or it could be the sunroof seal is it cracked and perrished around the roof door?

There's a bit on this guide about the sunroof, but not a lot.

I would also get a new sunroof seal if it's on it's way out. VW still do them or try

sounds like the drainage pipes, mines was blocked up on one side & it was a nightmare when it rained, the pipes exit behind the back bumper, i pulled mine out into the boot & got some wire up it & loads of crap came out, its not a hard repair, just very fiddly getting the old tubing back through the holes! Theres loads more info on this forum about it. Good Luck!!!

check inside the front door jambs 1st, theres a cutout in the wing where the drain tube should pass thru, if a wing has been replaced sometimes this gets pinched.
