Well, it still has several months of the VW warranty... so that should give you some peace of mind. Also, you could run a HPi check and see if it has been involved in any accidents.
I would also have thought the multipoint check would have been a good thing, especially if done by a third party (such as RAC) - it could just be tracking gone wrong... etc... i.e. nothing too sinister...
Could always use to haggle the price down aswell?
