Electric window
« on: 22 June 2007, 18:15 »
Like a dopey sod, I ocked my keys in the car and so had to break a window to retrieve them. now, I've got a window I need to fit, but the electric window doesn't work. I checked the wires going into the motor and there's power going to them. Is there anything I can do to the electric window motor to make it work?

Don't know if this will be the problem (seeing as it's after you broke your window that it doesn't work), but I had problems with my electric window and bought a new regulator - turns out the problem was the window switch in the centre console and my old motor and regulator worked fine!  The switch was just short circuiting - it went for no reason at all, so it could be nothing to do with you breaking in!

I took the mechanism out of the door and tested it on a battery so that might be worth a try to check and still goes up and down.
