Hi Guys, Well where do i start!!!!
Yesterday i picked up my 97 P Golf GTI 8V and had about an 1hr drive home, the car had passed the MOT just 2 days ago also a new timing belt fitted. So you can picture the moment when i got the keys....
Well i was no longer than 10-15min into my journey home when i heard this knocking noise from the back passenger wheel. Then it went away and came back again, so i thought to my self i was just hearing things, but today the same happened again so went down to my local tyre fitters to ask if i could put the car up on the ramps to have a look. So when up on the ramp i had a loose heat shield but thought that it could not be this, then the tyre fitter noticed that there was a round rubber bushing at the back of the disk brake and this you could spin very easily so i tried the opposite one and this was solid.
If this car has passed the MOT should this not have been checked!!!
Could this be causing the knocking noise???
