If you can stretch to something like these you'll be getting a really good speaker and you can use them as coaxial or components so you've got the best of both worlds

Do you need crossovers or filters then on those Vibe sa50s if you use the tweeters ??

Will they fit straight into the standard positions ?? Do you have these ... what do they sound like ??

I do have them and they sound really nice, you get the crossovers with them and they're really easy to wire up with good instructions that explain how you can use and wire them up. I haven't fitted them in my Golf yet but I did have them in my previous car (BMW e30) and although they were a bit smaller than the standard speakers they replaced they still fitted without any problems and they're a very slim speaker so should fit in the door pod without any bother. Are you going to fit the mids in the door and the tweeters in the dash ? If the answer is no then I would look at the Rockford fosgate ones on your list as I think the Rockford stuff is as good as any. Just my opinion though

Yes mids in the door, tweeters in the dash ... so they'll both fit the standard holes ok then ??

Was going to use just the headunit on the comps up front, and forget the rears ? Not after big sound.

As I said I haven't fitted them in me Golf yet so I think you'll have to lengthen some of the speaker wires and work out some way of mounting the tweeter's in the dash pods but I wouldn't have thought it would be that difficult. When I do get round to fitting my stereo in the car I'm gonna have the Vibes up front a set of replacement 6 x 4's in the rear shelf supports and my Vibe 12 inch ported enclosure in the boot.

Yes thats a good point mate and just to add that when I bought the Vibe speakers I got enough good quality oxygen free cable to re-wire the front speakers when I fitted them !
