tell me about this DSG then! how does it differ from ordinary auto?
OH went looking at the Golf Plus(why?wossitfor?) at the w/e. he didn't like the front lights. :undecided: he seems fixated on the idea I need a big flat sill-less boot for bales of feed and ordinary shopping. I manage perfectly well with the boots we have, and if I have to get several bales, I have the Disco....which is high level too. Last w/e he came back with a trial Mazda M2. OK, it's a bit higher off the ground, I sat in it and got out again easily, it's got 4 doors so would be good for the aged Ps, but zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Now I am getting to really LIKE the A3....................it's v. refeeeeened in feel, and lovely to look at inside and out. Especially inside at night with every light and dial in red! We really don't need a bigger car, he just drives to and from the station daily, 8m away..........so now he's looking for a recent A2 to show me. No auto, but a modern light clutch i presume, anyway it's for him. I don't need or want anything sporty now, just a wee bit of ooompf.

Have to go ask the Mk 5 boys about DSG!

Yeah A3's are cool. Could ya persuade the O/H that an S3 would be the right car for you?

would not DARE transport hay in any of our cars! no, that's delivered by tractor and trailer. Feed stores do the other needs in nice plastic covered bales or tough paper sacks....20-25kg, but sliding from the Disco to the barrow is no prob. I'm big 'n tuff anyway!

hmmmmmmmmmmmm.......it is coming up to hay lifting season, with the grass not growing now ...they are aweful things to handle, the twine cuts into your fingers, even the old fashioned imperial small bale size. I shunt them into a big wheelie bin to trundle around and soak (there's a tap at the base.) Silly beasts cough if the hay's not soaked. Luckily a bale will last 2-3 days.
Absolutely nothing to do with cars whatsoever!

Should use the classic two pronged fork! Gives leverage to make the job easier!
Reminds me of my teenage years down on my Aunty's farm! also lifting the old churns full of milk!
