New head unit

Hi there, I will admit straight away that I know  all about IC in cars.
I am looking at buying a new head unit and saw in Halfords that you can now buy head units that have a fitting for a sub. Do these work well taking into account that i dont do any of that RAVY, WOO WOO sh1t. I do like to listen to classical music every now and again and you need that extra bit of base for some of that kind of music. Do you need to fit any extra wiring, apart from the speaker cable, or is that it? Cheers for any help.

Yeh, you need a few more things - usefully all of which are available from Halfords. Incidentially, I work there so if someone at your local store tells you something that you're not sure about PM me, they're probably talking poo
Anyway, all you need is an amp wiring kit - in Halfords they're located with the rest of the audio connectors and wiring. Basic ones cost around £25-£35 and contain full instructions - they usually have power cables, signal cable, speaker cable and fuses and fixings.
It's very easy to do, hardest thing is hiding the wiring - and for your type of music I'd probably go for a 12" sub with a modest amplifier of around 200 - 300 watts.

STAY AWAY FROM HALFRAUD'S 

If you want a new head unit, go to halfraud's and find the one you like, make a note of the model number and try getting it from one of the site's below. WILL be loads cheaper!!!!

You don't need a 12" sub!! Get a 10". They take up less room then a 12" sub and a 10" will go low enough for your kind of music. You need warm round tight bass, the kind that only a 10" can give you. Plus the 12" will only drown out your other speaker's, then you'll get someone from halfraud's telling you, that you need to upgrade your other speaker's.

Should only take a day to do, even for a novice, you have to start somewhere.  Below is a link installing you new head unit, don't forget while it's out to run you remote switching wire and the RCA cable. You can get the keys to remove your stereo from halfraud's they're not much to buy.

Some golden rules:
Before you do anything always disconnect the negative lead on you battery
Run the blue switching wire next to the power wire down the left side of your car.
Run the RCA down the right hand side of your car, to make sure you don't get interference from the power cable (magnetic field).
