its losing the setting cause when you take you keys out there is no constant 12v feed too the stereo at least this was my problem i took the main live from the lighter and wired that to the stereo and i dont have any problems now ive got a mk3 gti so the thin brown and red is the switched and like i said take the lighter live for the stereo hope it helps.
