8V CLUTCH

My clutch has started to slip etc so is there anything I need to be aware off before I start doing the job. Or is this a mechanic job??

it dont look that hard seems to be plenty of room. I did one once on a pug 205 no bother. although the Golf is a far better car than that ever was

Fairly simple, saying that allow a day to do the job. Don't take shortcuts.
Have you got lifting equipment?
A good tip is, the box will probably not come out without moving the engine over, so instead of moving the engine, when the box is unbolted and free, move it out slightly and rotate the diff up to miss the subframe when lowering it.
