Front door speakers
« on: 21 May 2006, 00:29 »
As my front speakers have blown and one of the speaker grills is cracked Im looking to fit bigger speakers.

Is there any adaptors out there which can be fitted to my door bins so that I can fir bigger speakers?

Hi, not sure if there are adapters, but how about the door bins on this link: http://www.audioscape.co.uk/index.php?id=22. These allow for a maximum speaker size of 17cm.

you can fit 13cm speakers into your door pockets with the adaptors available from VW. The part number is a sticky thread in this section. :)

You would be amazed at the sound of a good set of 5 1/4 components without the need for going to 6 1/2's. The componets will fit straight in too  If you dont mind parting with £100-150 for some Focal components then thats what i would do!

Yep all for keeping the standard look but not sure if I would want to spend over £100 for a pair. I was thinking of spending around £60 - £80. What would you recomend?

I've got a pair of vibe 13cm SA-K series speakers, they can be run as coaxial or as components and I havent fitted them in the Golf yet but I had them in my last car and they sounded very good. I paid £75 for them and thought they were worth it, I would echo what has allready been said here and I would go for good speakers over large speakers every time. Here are the sites I use
