What is this part?
« on: 22 December 2005, 20:11 »
Having bought myself another GTI (86 8v K-Jet) after many years, I found another air leak (fifth so far!) - It's the t-piece plastic connector thing on the right hand side of the second pic in the link, there is a small cone connector with nothing shown on the diagram being attached to it.  Whatever it was is no longer there (just a hole), I cant find anything that should be attached to it.  When I put my finger over the hole the engine stalled, I had to wind the idle screw a long way out before she would even start with he hole plugged - can someone tell me what it is?  Cheers...

You talking about the bit going to the hose labled 'vacuum line to brake vacuum booster'?  If so there should be 1 vacuum line which runs off to the back of the dash clocks for the MFA, the other connections should be blanked off with caps :)
