Good place to start, how new is the dizzy cap, rotor arm & plugs?  It could also be a problem with the hall sender in the dizzy.

Could you tell us exactly what the symptoms are, and what car it is ;)

Does it turn over and not start or does it not turn over at all?

Mine wouldn't turn over occasionally and it was a loose connection onto the starter motor, unclipped it and bent it closed with the pliers so it gets good contact.

Does it just do nothing when you turn the key?  If so this is exactly what mine did when my earth lead was loose!  Take all the battery +ve & -ve plus the alternator leads off and give em a good clean with a wire brush & refit ;)
