Dark moss green is now available to order on a regular Clubsport here in Ireland at least. Not such an exclusive/special colour after all.

Pretty typical of VW these days, as I see Lapiz blue everywhere now, 99% of the time is an R-Line rather than an R.

Blimey, they’ll be releasing a Performance Pack regular Clubsport next with special suspension, race tyres and 325PS

That definitely takes from the exclusivity of the Edition 50. VW don't seem to know what they are at.

They go further than that Joe, according to the price list it is available on all Golf Performance models (that surely is a mistake though).

And for good measure, you can get Tornado Red on the Passat.

Not sure what VW Ireland are smoking these days!

Agreed on Lapiz. The majority of Golf R-lines seem to be sold in it, it’s everywhere now. Sick of people saying to me there is another R like yours!!
Formerly GTI but now gone to the darkR side…

Just checked the UK configurator and still just Anemone Blue available on the R Line etc here in the usual staid palette.
I note that Moonstone is no longer an option.
Thankfully Crystal Ice still is

Anyway, back on topic…

Congrats CookieMonster
What’s the spec?

Thanks!

Dark Moss Green, pan roof, performance pack, black Warmenau’s, area view and HK.

I know pan roof is marmite but I really like the light it lets in. Wanted the alcantara wheel but already spending enough and not sure if it will last as well as leather. The green to the point above looks amazing in the sun but less so in dull light so hope I don’t regret it as love pure gray on the TCR.

That’s a pretty perfect spec and just like the TCR (in grey) it’ll hold its value the best so hopefully another keeper in a unique colour that’ll remain ultra desirable to enthusiasts and, more importantly, give the owner a sense of satisfaction.

Was it a pre-specced car or did you spec it yourself? There can’t be many unspecced (is that even a word?) build slots left now I’d imagine.

As a previous TCR owner myself I can assure you it’s MUCH more responsive to drive at normal speeds but I can’t vouch for the ride in PP trim but I bet it’s no worse.

It was prebuilt and as close to spec I would have ordered from factory as possible.

As said would have likely got the non leather steering wheel but it wasn’t an issue not having it.

I thought order books were meant to close end of the year but I guess we will find out soon on that.

I was really tempted to get red as think it looks fantastic probably more of the time than green but there was something about the green that changed my mind. In the right light in looks amazing.

Glad to hear on the comparison to the TCR. hoping it’s not too firm with the PP and nothing has been too negative on the ride in the videos I have seen so far.

Only thing I am not too keen on is the stripe decal at the bottom. I didn’t have the decals on my TCR. think they look good on the red but not so much the green… but think they will need to stay on to keep it standard but would have preferred it to be optional if that makes sense?

Not as garish as the optional decals on the TCR at least.
My TCR had them from the factory (pre-reg’d car) but I did ask for them to be removed.

I quite like the red Ed50 decals even against the green. It all ties in with the theme
