  i had the middle box taken off my mk3 it did make it a bit louder but not too excessive it only cost £40 for them to weld a piece of stainless steel pipe in its place.
i have had the same thing done now. cost = £40. i didnt make much difference to the noise level. notice a slight increase in power around 4000 rpm. thanks guys
