Not so long ago I’d have spent months searching out a set of OEM Estorils myself, but not at £5k a set!!
One pothole impact could easily see a couple grands worth of (not particularly special) wheel(s) kaput.
I had no hesitation in getting a set of CM replicas on the car almost immediately after delivery as I disliked the OEM 18’s on my Clubsport. Not so much the styling but the offset was all wrong for my tastes.
As SR said above ^^^^ I put Reifnitz replicas on mine as they were/are a bit unusual, and I did briefly consider getting some CM Estoril replicas to put Cross Climate tyres on over winter too, but decided in the end I’d tough it out with summer tyres.
As yet, after 15 months and circa 10k miles the CM replicas have stood up pretty well (touch wood) but again, as SRGTD said, I’d personally avoid the polished style as they won’t stand up to salty winter conditions very well.
£5k to different people means different things. To some it’s loose change, to others it’s significant but not too painful, to me it’s a bloody lot of money that it would take me ages and ages to save up and no doubt my kids would have needed it as a loan long before I’d saved it, so I don’t bother even trying to earn that sort of money nowadays! It all depends on your standpoint and level of car OCD at the end of the day.
