For me, the AID is good, but could be SO much better ...
My two main gripes ..
Not being able to see "Classic" view - where the speedo and rev counter show full needles. This is available on other VW models with AID, but not the Golf ... why 
The white fuel needle against white tick marks. It is sometimes very difficult to see where the needle is ... kind of defeats the whole point of the AID. Yes, I know you can have the remaining range displayed, but surely a clear fuel gauge is not too much to ask !!
I agree with Tony - the white fuel needle against white tick marks is not as clear to see - it could have been better configured, but generally I do like the AID!
