And another odd fault Mk7 GTI
« on: 20 June 2017, 13:24 »
Having  been a WEEK! at dealers flushing out contaminate coolant on collection car on reserve fuel so topped up car, info showing range 355, gauge bending the needle (almost) So 65 miles down the road still the same in display 355 and needle not budged

Also when CAR vehicle settings is open on the infotainment the tiny pump in R/H lower corner has a small triangle with ! in it. Never seen that before and my R doesn't have it. The dealer checked others and said they all have the little warning? triangle.

Anyone else had faulty petrol reading issues like this and do you have the small triangle next to pump in display? Many thanks CHB

Wee triangle next to pump is to indicate what side the tank filler neck is at so you know what side to fill your car

The range indicator is very coarse and gives the range available if you continued to drive as you are at that instant. If you were driving quite steadily, or cruising at a constant speed, it is quite possible that your range has increased enough to compensate for your mileage done. Apologies if you knew all that and you have got a fault!

Thanks, We'll see, I know it can go up but 65 miles and still 355 seems more GTD than GTI! but doesn't explain the needle not moving? My  F/L R doesn't have that wee triangle by the pump btw.

Albeit mine is a May 2016 GTD (so there may be differences due to firmware upgrades), but mine doesn't have the small triangle either ?
