Drive the Deal offer free driven delivery only at the moment.  You can pay extra for delivery by trailer though and it may still work out cheaper than Carwow.

As has Been mentioned Carlow dealer might be closer, I was told DTD currently have two VW dealers on the books so might be a distance to travel. The price does include having the car driven to your address.
Carwow and Orange Wheels usually offer part ex but the offer from Orange Wheels Audi dealer for my GTI was poor. In the end I went with DTD for my R and the dealer took my GTI part ex and gave me a better price than anyone else. DTD also offer an auction service for your car for a small fee.
The last time I checked, DTD have the car trailered to your address, not driven.
Things may have changed though and if this is now the case, I wouldn't buy a car through them.
Don't need some stranger driving my new car before I do

Someone has to drive it before you, and doubt you know them. Why so precious, no way dealers allow kids deliver new cars, I,be only come across mature guys with VW. Hope so as I'm having my R delivered in 8 days. Let you know how it goes.
Arrived 15/5/17 Mk 7.5 R Lapiz 5dr DSG, Prets, Pan Roof, DCC, Rear View Cam.
Our other car is a Mk7 GTI DSG 5dr Tungsten, Vienna, Rear View Cam, Park assist.

DTD dealer offered to have it driven in my case, second time I have used them and the same the previous time. I would not want to have someone drive it for me either so picked it up myself both instances which suited me. Having it delivered on a trailer costs extra

I happened to be stood at the window when my wife's new A4 was delivered by a driver in his 50's.
I watched as he clumsily drove up a kerb and scrubbed both tyres on one side of the car.
Hope your R gets better treatment.

We got the wife's R through a leasing company and it came from a Welsh dealer. We are in Leeds. I didn't want it driving all that way so paid for it to be trailered. No problems at all.
The problem came with the paint which was covered in swirls. The lease company was great and dealt with it all. Ended up with a correction with the guy who looks after my Mk2, paid for by the dealer plus a couple of freebies. However, in future, I think I'd rather go to a local dealer and pay a bit more as I physically wouldn't have accepted this car to start off if I'd picked it up in person.
I got my Passat through Car Wow from my normal dealer and found the whole process smooth and painless.
