Lock barrel repair.
« on: 05 April 2016, 20:22 »
The lock barrel on my passenger side has fallen apart. Is it possible to take a working handle and lock out and just switch the tumblers??Anyone have a guide/link  to doing this?

What's fallen off?

Handle is not an integral part of the lock, you should be able to keep the old one.

Part 21 has lost the hook...so I want to take the locking mechanism from one car and swap the innards of the lock mechanism into the other while retaining the lock barrel of the primary car so can use the same key

Can this be done by removing the lock components from the inside of the door? I don't have a torx or spline bit for the screw that holds the door handle in place. I've got the door cards off already..if not what is the size of the torx/spline screw and I will try to get one...;)

Nope not really, you need to undo the torx screw. Can look up what size torx it is, driver is dead cheap.

I got a spare part 21 at home, can send that to you.
