Just to add a bit more...on the drivers armrest is the electric window switches and there are two extra buttons there.
The button between the front and rear window buttons is used to program/or change the settings for the central locking system..on mine, at least. You really need to have the handbook to guide you through the process smoothly...otherwise you will have to fiddle about a fair bit. My windows can be closed from outside the car, but only with the key in the door lock. I'm not too sure whether the previous owner has fiddled with the locking system on mine, but after getting in and driving off, all the doors will lock themselves at about 10mph. The deadlock system seems to actuate as well, because I have to pull the door handle twice (on all doors) to open whichever one I want.
If I'm alone in the car, only the drivers door will unlock when I pull the handle twice, although I can program it differently with the above mentioned button.
Hope all that makes sense.
