TB clean = mpg shock
« on: 04 August 2015, 20:41 »
Its been a few years since I cleaned the tb.  Plenty of excuses ....
It started to surge slightly and was bogging down when pulling away, so I bit the bullet and took it off for a clean.  It wasn't so bad, but enough gunk came out with the spray and a wipe around.  I put it all back to together and did an alignment.  All good
I drove it to work and back last couple of days and mpg has gone up from high 20s / 30 ish on the 10 mile commute, to 37 and then 38+!  I'd kind of got used to the lower mpg, but to see a 25% increase from that alone is pure mental!
Give it a go, you might be surprised!

Reminded me need do this on mine as doubt has been touched since leaving factory.
