Coolant system loosing fluid ... Help please
« on: 26 December 2014, 15:09 »
Hi,

I have a Golf MK5 GT sport that is loosing coolant. It is a very slow loss so is causing me trouble to find! Essentially from maximum line it goes below the minimum and triggers the sensor alert between 30 minutes and 1 hr of driving.

I have filled it and left it running for 20 minutes but it was not dripping and the level did not reduce that much. any suggestions to fault find or fix this issue?

Add a bottle of coolant UV tracer and get a battery operated "black" light.... and you should find the leak, unless it's head gasket.

Have you checked the oil for sludge/mayo?
