I will honestly bet it's the brake sensor bud that's what mine was and was the same issue... Get it scanned mate

Well a mate followed me home today from work and let me know I have NO brake lights at all.  I imagine it will be the sensor, going to drop it in to my local garage tomorrow when I am work and hopefully they can get it sorted ASAP.

Sounds like the wheel speed sensor. I had the same problem a few months back. Easy fix mate

Fixed for £30 including labour, cant really complain but cheers for the knowledge guys.  Hopefully wont to keep asking!!

What was it then?

Brake switch is where my money is. Can't imagine an ABS sensor would trip the warning light with a pedal press AND completely knock out your brake lights.

Yup, brake switch, there is a garage I took it to which specialise in VW's but he couldn't fit me although he advised me that's what was wrong.  All safe now and no risk of someone smashing into the rear!!
