Apart from the equipment (Xenons mainly) and the slightly more compliant ride, as well as the practicality of 5 doors, I do prefer my old Scirocco. The tramping pisses me off no end. I have to pull away from roundabouts very carefully - it's a balancing act between pulling away reasonably swiftly and tramping on the spot. I reckon my front Bridgestones will be shagged come November and I can get some Michelins.

I am looking forward to finding out how the new TT will drive as it'll also be MQB platform, and will give an idea how the next Scirocco (if they ever make another -the new golf is quite a bit lower than the last one) will drive.

The Scirocco had excellent residuals at launch, but waning residuals, lots of copycat cars and less equipment than the new GTD were my main reasons for switching.

I will probably be in a TT or S3 next time around.

Mine came with the Bridgestones and I've managed to put my traction light on once.
However I can't say I've ever experienced tramping. Goes round corners as if its on rails.

You're not trying hard enough!

With or without the box, my car is very easy to tramp, and also easy to get spinning wheels in 2nd at about 15mph if you put your foot down hard - and that's in the dry! It's a real shame that i'll have spent almost half of the term of my ownership with sh!te tyres that have compromised the car somewhat.

Believe you me I have tried it. In fact I had to re check the tyres just in case I had read them wrong on the collection day due to the excitement
On the other hand the A1 I've donated to my wife was terrible for torque steer. I kept thinking I was going to go off the side of the road when booting it.

Maybe something to do with our cold Scottish roads/weather/climate P3asa  but I must agree, I kick the arse out of mine almost daily (I have Potenza's btw) and I've had the traction control kick in a million times but I've only experienced tramping once! However, the 3 door DSG I had as a demo for a few days wouldn't make it out of the street without tramping and spinning... very odd!
