hey guys do any of you know if the later mk2 golf rear brake calipers is a direct fit to the early mk2. I know the handbrake mechanism is located different. but will it fit with out changing cables or hoses?

If they do fit then so should mk3 and some mk4 rear brakes. Unless you already have the later mk2 ones it is probs worthwhile upgrading to the newer ones as the handbrake mechanism isn't exposed for winter and shouldn't freeze the brake on.

Only handbrake cables are different between early & late mk2 rear calipers, and just for reference using mk4 rear calipers you need different rear hoses as they have different banjo's
