So, Sport mode doesn't actually make the car faster? Feels like it does. Maybe that's just the extra noise 
Sport mode gives you the illusion that you're faster but actually Stig managed a quicker lap time in the GTI on Comfort mode.
Mk6 or mk7?
Yes it was a Mk7. No reason for him to make it up as he said the GTI was a great car. He was simply saying that Sport buttons ect do nothing at all to the cars performance.
My car does feel the same on kick down acceleration in both Comfort & Sport mode. I really don't think it's a considerable difference if any at all. Only mode it feels different inside Eco. The sound is different in Sport too , that's the only differences I can notice.
