I gotta say im not a fan of the Monza shadows, I do like the Talladega in black tho, might have to see how much a 18" set are going for from VW or 2nd hand.

By the sounds of it apart from looks there isn't any reason to go for 19"... so 18"s its gonna be if I changed

17s will handle better than 18s and 18s will handle better than 19s.

I was a bit unsure about the shadows when I got my car, but they grew on me and I love them now! I'd recommend you get a pair. They look great on the Gti. You won't be disappointed.

Here's some shots Snoopy.  Hope one of them will do.  Apologies for rusty looking brake discs but it had just been washed

As for handling, 17's give a better ride and handle a little more fluidly. 18's in my opinion, give the best compromise. The lower profile tyre gives better responce, but with less "give" has a slightly firmer ride. I've not driven a 6 with 19's, but I would expect the ride to be tiresome, so much so that you would not feel like pushing on and therefore never experience the addition grip they offer

Have to disagree.  Imo, whilst you do get more road feel with 19's, it in no way detracts from the enjoyment of the drive and certainly does not stop me 'pushing on'.  I've driven in excess of 700 miles in the last week and not one mile of it was tiresome   That said, I think 18's offer the optimum ride for a gti.

Im looking to get some second hand Talladega's or reps ready for spring, I just love how they sit on the Golf.

Snoopy - did you manage to photoshop the Glendales onto yours?   Look any good?  I imagine they'd go well with the blue.
