Engine start blocked by immobiliser
« on: 27 October 2013, 11:38 »
Have an intermittent problem with immobiliser preventing engine start.  When this occurs it takes 4 or 5 attempts before normal starting is achieved. Tried changing key battery but still the same (both keys). When scanning it shows the following codes:
17978 engine start blocked by immobiliser intermittent
01176 key - signal to low intermittent.
Any ideas where to start with this one?

I suspect it could be this as well but both keys I have started playing up within a short space of time.  Could it be the ecu?  The car has a misfire as well at the moment could these problems be linked? I believe there is more than one ecu on the car would the same one control both engine and immobiliser?
