Lowering springs
« on: 06 October 2013, 17:39 »
Hi I have the 1.8T 20v mk4. Covered 126k but been really well looked after and runs like a dream. They guy who had it before me had bilstein b4 dampers put on. All my friends have said because of this I can get just springs not cheap budget coilovers. I want to go maximum 40mm. I have seen these:

http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/vogtland-40mm-sport-lowering-suspension-springsbr-golf-4-18-18t-19sdi-19tdi-20-23-v5-fwd-0997-p-5151.html

Now if I get these do I need to worry about anything else, such as top mounts? Anti-roll bars? Drop links?
Also if I could see any pictures of anyone who has lowered 40mm just to see the difference would be cool :)

those dampers are good yes and if all in good condition will be fine with springs. depends on budget and waht you want you can get good spring and damper kits for around 300-350. GTI MK4 sit a little lower iirc comapred to normal mk4s so a 40mm lowers around 35mm. 40mm will just be ok on anti roll bars.

this is mine on koni dampers and h&r 35mm springs
