mk1 k-jet running between 98 - 102 in traffic, but I've seen it up to 114 when spanking it down the motorway but it still stayed constant and fell if I took my foot of the gas a bit, valvers do run higher than the 8vs and as Slick/Ian Beale/Large portions has already stated, slow down and pull over if you start to hit the mid to high 120s. Best way to keep the temp down is to keep the oil fresh with regular oil changes using quality oil.
......now officially dubless.

it hit 118 today, but dropped back down to 104 when I got moving again!

How can I get it to run cooler? Or do I not need to worry??

The coolant guage sits right in the middle and rarely moves?/  :undecided: :undecided: :undecided:

tbh i wouldn't worry temp gauges all sound about right, you can expect it to run a bit warmer but do not let it go above the 125+ mark for ages, a quick few secs is tolerable but if it does it regularily then you need to check it out.

Coolant gauge sounds spot on, mine sits a bit cooler than most but i think thats more to do with the engine only being about 60k old.
