Fellas

The rad fan on my 89 16v has suddenly become the noisiest in the UK, my elderly neighbours love it  :grin:

I have a spare in my garage from an 89 8v, will it fit and if so how big a job plz?

Straight swap!  4 bolts hold the rad shroud on, and 3 bolts hold the fan to the shroud.  Remove all the bolts, swap fans, do em all up again  :grin:

Only thing you have to watch out for is if both fans are the same type, some dubs came with only a single speed fan and others had a 2 speed fan. Way you tell is to look at the fan plug wires, if there are 3 its a 2 speed jobber, if only 2 its a single speed.

cheers rub, bloody typical different fans glad i checked! oh well neighbours should be pleased to listen to my fan gives them something else to moan at :grin:

Spray a bit of WD40 into it, might quiet it down.  Unless you enjoy annoying your neighbours  :grin:
