Pretty sure the answers no, but thought I'd ask the experts...

I have a 2008 Golf with built in satnav, map, medi, DVD display and and Aux in port. I don't know what model my media display is.

Is there any way of being able to control the ipod (skip track, etc) on the main display when I plug the ipod into the AUX? It would also be nice if the song name & artist came up on the display as well.

I've had a search online and all answers lead to no, but a lot of the answers are a few years old so I'm wondering if anyone has found a way around this.

If not, what are the options to make this happen without taking out my display thingy in the car and without spending ridiculous amounts of money?

Thanks

your right its no, auxiliary inputs are generally 3.5mm which i assume is what youve got so will only support audio and not data which is what control functions and track id output would need. USB with the right connection and software on your stereo/media system is the only way you get control of your ipod.

I think you can get a Bluetooth adapter. Not sure if you need a specific stereo though.
