My boot carpet was wet today , lifted the carpet up and it seems to be coming out from under the plastic that runs the length of the boot by where the shut line is if you get me

Check out the foams seals around the rear lights clusters as these perish over time allowing water in.

Will give that a look in the morning. If they are leaking what do you do to re-seal or replace them with ?

Buy new seals from VW, and if there is any rust or bubbling on the bodywork where the lights go then deal with that first otherwise the new seal probably won't seal very well.

As and when you fit the new seals use some silicone sealer as well.
