You can use this table to make sure you get the right one:

IE: Vw part no 1J5 920 925A

1J0 = standard clocks / 1J5 - Bora sport
920 = can bus
9 = mph / 8 = km/h
2 = half mfa / 4 = fis
6 = imob III  5 = imob II
C = diesel  A=petrol

There are two versions on the MK4 paltform these being Immo 2 and Immo 3, earlier models came as Immobiliser 2 and in early 2001 VW introduced Immobiliser 3 with the vehicle immobiliser being integrated into the cluster.

You can tell which version you have by the part number of your cluster by the last numerical digit, 5 being immo 2 and 6 being immo 3.

EG: 1J0 920 926 C - immo 3 cluster / 1J0 920 925 C - immo 2 cluster

 You can put an immo 3 cluster into an immo 2 car (upgrade) but not an immo 2 cluster into an immo 3 car (downgrade)

* Anything but 6 on the end number is immo2 *

keep in mind that you'll need vcds or similar to adapt the new clocks to the car, and also a way of extracting the login code from them too. if you only have vagtacho its probably worth sticking to VDO manufactured clocks

So if I was  put immo 3 into my 2000 AUM Mk4 I would need to get it recoded to work?

honestly i think an auto electrician would struggle with the job unless they're a vag specialist too. £50 to forum members at midland vw to fit and code the clocks, correct the mileage (vdo and motometer only) and reprogram all the keys :afro:
