Alloys rubbing when braking?
« on: 14 June 2012, 19:06 »
hey guys actually a mk3 Driver but as i have four studs though some of you may be able to help. got some ATS cups today put some part worn tyres and now when i brake theres this odd noise i assume the wheels as its a rotation noise at the same speed as the car, the only things i think it might be is 1) weights might be hitting the brake
                                                2) 195/50/15 tyres are rubbing somewhere?
                                                3) car to low? (not low enough in my eyes lol.

the alloys are ET28 7j15.

if anyone can help advice me that be great THANKS!

If it was a wheel/brake clearance issue it would be rubbing all the time. As said you need to get the wheel off and look for signs on rubbing somewhere. it should be quite obvious I would imagine. Can't see it being the driveshaft as your not that low but check anyway.

weights might be hitting the brake

Have you checked this?  If its consistant with the speed your doing then it is a high chance this is the issue.
