so the place i went to buy it from for £12 or what ever it was is now out of stock

so i used some 22mm copper and a 1"x22mm female connector and it screwed onto the half snapped elbow lip perfectly!!!!!

that fix cost me £0.00!!!!!

as long as it holds id leave it like that looks a better job than the standard one
