Take off the trim on the boot lid and you'll see the central locking mechanism with the actuator on the right of the lid and a connecting rod to back of the lock. The rod moves a white plastic thingy to and fro to enable the lock to be pressed against it which operates the de-latching mechanism. It seems like something is not moving freely on yours.

Check for rust on the connecting rod. This can cause the mechanism to seize where it goes through a clip. Sand down and as said apply some grease.
