Apple users are just like junkies.  They have to have their fix. "It's new! so it must be better?"

So me being an Apple fan I would be writing this off my 2011 Macbook whilst making a call on my iPhone 4G?

Wrong, I'm typing this on my 2008(ish) Macbook whilst making a call on my 30 month old iPhone 3GS. Yes, there are some silly people who have to have the latest model but this applies to cars and most other tech. At the end of the day it's out of date yes, but Apple products seem to last ALOT longer than most of their rivals.

It all depends on the individual. I too am still using a Mac I bought in early 2008 (over 3 years old) and using a 3GS which is over 2 years old. I don't feel the urge to get the 4GS despite the hype. The Mac is still more than powerful enough for what I use it for so again no need to upgrade even though there have been 2 major refreshes.

Apple can update their products all they want, however if my kit isn't broken then I'm not feeling the urge to upgrade anytime soon.

I am quite similar i only just updated my iMac 10 months ago from a 1st gen G5 iMac i had that for 5 years which still actually works perfectly ( although is quite slow), I just i needed more power & saw that everything was going down the intel route so decided to update.

I only updated my 3gs to a 4 because i got it for free but will get a 5 when they come out as i will have an upgrade due & want a phone that i can mirror media to on my atv.

I have always wanted an iPad but just don't need it enough lol

Products need updates regularly, its how they stay fresh and current. Technology moves far to fast to sit on one model for too long!

Surprised it's only once a year at the rate ARM processors are evolving.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

For every Apple hater you'll probably find a dozen people that love their products.  Do you think Apple give a f*ck if a few people hate them?  I think they sit back, admire their billions of dollars a year profit, and sleep pretty easily at night.

Worth remembering that they did chance the face of the mobile electronics industry.  What have you contributed?

Electronics/tech is always changing.  Your argument is disingenuous.

Windows did it previously.

The interweb does it again and again.

Apple does it a bit from time to time.

But more than that Apple just spoons on slicker product design and better marketing with the commercialisation of market segments.  They don't particularly innovate, they re-market more effectively.

They are just another consumer electronics firm.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
