Suspension question for a Mk2 8v
« on: 19 April 2005, 11:16 »
Right, just getting a '87 8v off a mate on the cheap, but he admits, suspension a bit supect. Done a search, but not quite found the answer.......not looking hard enuf i 'spect

On a bit of a budget, who would recommend what-pls bear in mind car cost me £250, and I cant justify spending that again on the car without worthwhile return in cornering fun!!

Question is I'm gonna replace shocks and springs, what would someone recommend-and putting back to standard is an option!! So would a simple Bilstein Kit do the job for example? or do i go down carparts, and get 4 std springs and dampers?

Also, bushes-I'm thinking of upgrading to poly-is it worth doing, and are the powerflex ones noticeably better than a cheaper set such as a bug pack set in noise department? After all, this is the wife's commuter and this factor needs to be considered.

Cheers

Agree with Gambit, but do the bump stops as well, as these are likely to be split and soggy.

... it's turned into a fashion show for poofters.
