OS Steering Gaitor possible in situ?
« on: 31 August 2011, 17:28 »
Hi Guys,

I need to replace a split boot / gaitor on my offside.

Is it possible to replace this without having to remove the whole trackrod? Space is very limited and not sure how I could get in my cv clip pliers to secure the fixings. I was hoping I could just remove the tie rod end and slip it on?

Thanks

Yeah, did one a few months ago, didnt even remove the track rod end,use real sturdy zip ties to secure.

yeah + 1

Then zip ties!
You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

Just count the turns you make when removing the rod end then re-fit with the same amount of turns and lock off. Simples
